Hello,
I would like to know what is the difference between:
1) hasty/rush
2) congested/saturated/stuffed
3) which of the following are correct?
*the sheer of size/volume/breadth/depth of other traffic.
4)what is the difference between:
*commuter/passenger/passer-by/pedestrian.
5)why not SIMPLE ticket instead of SINGLE ticket?
6)why not 'the two coaches BUMPED instead of COLLIDE?
7)why not 'the car SLIPPED instead of SKIDDED off the road'?
thank you so much.
1 hasty- adjective rush- noun/verb
2 congested- busy (traffic, people, etc) saturated- cannot take any more stuffed- filled physically (stomach, etc)
3 volume
4 commuter- travels a distance to work passanger- anyone travelling passer-by- someone who happens to be at the scene of something accidentally pedestrian- someone walking in the street
5 Why not indeed? We just don't use the term, that's all
6 They could bump if moving very slowly, when parking for instance
7 Skid is specific for this sort of movement
