There are 3 types of conditional sentences.
- Simple present +will - If I find her address, I’ll send her an invitation.
- simple past + would - If I found her address, I would send her an invitation.
- past perfect +would have - If I had found her address, I would have sent her an invitation.
each of these means different things
- It is possible and also very likely that the condition will be fulfilled.
- It is possible but very unlikely, that the condition will be fulfilled. - it is an imaginary condition
- It is impossible that the condition will be fulfilled because it refers to the past. - it was possible, but since it didn't happen at that particular time, it is now impossible

The second type of conditional can be used in situations which are quite likely: for instance, when giving advice, e.g.
1. If you turned right, you'd get there much more quickly.
