Default What does the word "portray" mean here?

The question is: How do you feel about the way you were portrayed in this book?

Is this question asking about how I feel what the book is talking about or which kind of narration the book is using?

I got really confused by it. Hope you can tell me how I should answer this question. Thx a lot!

It means "How do you feel about the way the book has described you."

To portray means "to depict", "to draw" .

So when a book portrays a person, the book is giving a description of that person; his charectiristics, his background, etc

There's an opportunity for a bit of vocab-building here: someone who draws or paints a portrait, portrays. By extension 'portray' is applied also to creating a representation in words.
