Default ambiguous?

Hi,

I have a question!!

How much do you want to do it?

I think this sentence is ambiguous because it can have two different meanings.

Don't you think so? Could you give me a help?

What are the two meaning to you? It sounds like a question about motivation to me.

Right! I definitely agree with you. But someone said it meant "How much money do you want to do it?".

What do you think of the idea? Considering the argument, I got confused.

Thanks tdol.
(It've been a long time since I posted up some questions. How are you there, in Japan? I've already been fall here in Korea. Take care!)

For money, I'd say 'How much do you want to do it for?' However, in spoken English I could see the question being used for money because in speech you could have a mini pause between the two halves that would make the meaning clearer.

PS, I'm fine, though I am now in Cambodia so we have the rainy season not fall. Take care.
