Arrow Particular mask

Hello again. I need info about those masks doctors and nurses wear when they operate.. What is their professional name? Face guards? But what I particularly need is, even if they do have a name, can I call them 'masks' regardless, or doctors get goose pimples because of this, since I don't use their actual name? Thanks.

I think most people would call them 'face masks'; your suggested usage of plain 'masks' would be fine. I believe there's a particular sort, with a disposal fabric wad held in place by a metal frame, called 'a martindale' - but check this in a dictionary.

I'm not a medical expert, but I think I'd refer to those as "surgical masks" or possibly "medical masks".

Thumbs up Re: Particular mask

I agree; 'surgical masks' sounds good to me.

Sounds good to me too, since surgeons use knives, not pills.
