| When an idea becomes current, it 'breaks through' or 'catches on'. When someone 'pushes through' an idea, they get it past some level of scrutiny without exposing it to an appropriately wide audience or an appropriate degree of inspection: "If the people at the meeting had realized what it really meant, they wouldn't have passed the motion; but he pushed it through too quickly for anyone to notice." b |

| I don't get it. Based on this Web site, the meaning of "go through" is different from the one I was trying to say in the sentence. I'm still confused. Please help. |
