It is usually pronounced as one syllable in AE. tordz (the o sound is the sound in door)

That's exactly how I pronounce it. In BrE, it's normally that way or 'twordz'. In my experience, American speakers usually pronounce it as Mike has said.

That's exactly how I pronounce it. In BrE, it's normally that way or 'twordz'.

Not so fast I usually give it two syllables - usually not a full /u:/ but some kind of less determinate one (either /ə/ or /ʊ/ depending on how carefully I'm talking).
