What was the context you saw it in? It sounds like a sexual feeling.

I read it in famous English novel "Goodbye Mr. Chips" by Hilton.the context is given below.Furthermore,my previous thread was not answered which is also from Goodbye Mr. Chips.

To introduce a group of slum boys to the serene pleasaunces of better-class youngsters at first seemed a "wanton stirring."

Please answer both of my threads.

    Regards.

    Shaukat.

It would awaken feelings in them that, as they didn't have access to the things the better-class youngsters had, would be in some way an unpleasant arousal.
