hello every one,
ppl in india often use adverb feeling with hungry like
"I am feeling hungry". rather than "I am hungry."
also
"I am feeling thirsty" rather than "I am thirsty".
what is correct
thanks
thank you
If you are speaking to a person in the US, "I am feeling hungry/thirsty" is not natural in speach.
I am hungry (I'm hungry) is the norm.
Yes- I would use the progressive form as a more tentative way of introducing my hunder and the simple in a more demanding way. (BrE speaker- there appears to be a difference between AE and BrE here.)
.
I agree that I'm hungry would be a much more commonly used expression in the US, but I strongly disagree with the statement that I'm feeling hungry would be viewed as "unnatural" speech.![]()
