Default Advices on taking up ACT(english section) and TOEFL

Hi, I would like to enroll at a college in the United States but they require me to take either the ACT(english section only) or the TOEFL. I have resources to study at the internet but I don't know how to start. By the way, english is not my favorite subject because I am bad at it. Do you have advices for me on how to start my review for the test and how can I like studying english. Thank you very much and I would really appreciate it.
