    Default grammar and vocabulary

    Dear teachers,

I have three questions to ask:

    No.1
There is any difference between outskirts and suburbs? In other words, is the sentence ' I live in the suburbs' of the same meaning with 'I live in outskrits'?

    No.2
I read the following expression in an article ' more than a few people'. Is this correct?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you in advance.

    Jiang

"Outskirts" and "suburbs" can be synonyms. However, "suburb" implies that the area is somewhat built up with mostly residential units. Outskirts can apply to that or to an empty area outside another area.

    Dear Mike,

Thank you very much for your explanation. Now I see the difference.

Could you please kindly explain the grammar when you are free?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you in advance.

I'm sorry I missed your second question.

"More than a few people" is correct and is plural. It can mean "several people" to "many people".

More than a few people live under Manhattan bridges.
