hello!!!
IŽd like to know the meaning of this word "leeked", this is the phrase:
"...he suspects that his credit card information leeked from a transaction..."
thanks in advance![]()
It should be leaked, meaning that the information reached people it shouldn't have.
Not a big fan of ergative and middle verbs?![]()
I'm not sure about this.
"The bucket leaks" and "Water leaks out of the bucket" strike my ear as both acceptable.
This suggetss that "The department leaks" and "Information leaks out of the department" should both be acceptable; and to my ear they are. Is your problem with the idea of one person leaking?

I don't really see much difference between a report being leaked and information leaking out over the internet.![]()
.
There is a lot of talk about "data leaks" nowadays, and the causes of "data leaks" seem to be fairly wide-ranging. So the idea of a "leaky transaction" doesn't seem to be terribly far-fetched. I mean, wouldn't that be more or less the opposite of a "secure transaction"?
