Neither of them are correct:
"They reported significantly inreased 1-year mortlaity in patients with periprocedural CK-MB elevation, even those who had a successful angiographic result."
"They reported a significantly increased 1-year mortality in patients with periprocedural CK-MB elevation, despite angiographic success."
I have corrected the grammar in both. I would choose the first one because the second seems to focus on the success of the procedure rather than the result.
Nothing to add to what Mike wrote, but I have one tiny point drhy: "if you were instead of me" should be "if you were in my place" (with stress on the "my").
