Hi

I have been trying to do some grammar exercises and find them very difficult. since there in none who could help me out with this. I would be very grateful if you could correct the errors in the following sentence.

> If she would have handed in her application she would have gotten the
job.

the sentence should be

If she had handed in her application, she would have got the job.

it is the third condition in the past.

As a beginner, you should avoid using "would" in both the "if" clause and the result clause of a conditional. The "would" part is something that will happen only if the condition in the "if" clause is met. So we usually state the "if" clause in more definite language.

If she had...she would have....
Had she...she would have....
