    Question Which or which one?

    Hello. Which (one?) is better?

"There are seven procedures that may be applied in the problem. The question is..."
    a. "which one among them is the best."
    b. "which among them is the best."

My question is rather general and relates to the which/which one construction, so I don't really care about this particular sentence. Should I then say "Which is better?" or "Which one is better?"?

    All the best,
    Nyggus

IMO, you can use either. In that sentence, however, "which of them" is better than either of them.

Thanks, MikeNewYork. And what about "which one if them"?

That would also be correct. If there can be only one answer, then it is better than "which of them".
