Question Whispering to and fro

"We wanted to do something with this sick situation. Adam whispered to and fro, and this helped us convince people that our intentions were good."

Does this "whispered to and fro" sound fine in this sentence/meaning?

Best,
Nyggus

Default Re: Whispering to and fro

"To and fro" is rather archaic these days and it means "in one direction, and then in the opposite direction." If Adam whispered here and there it might be a more accurate description.
