What "kinda stepped on my point" means?

I'm new to this forum.
I oftren come across an expression "kinda stepped on my point there"
when reading message board on the net and I don't know what that means.

At first I thought you'd use this idiom when you want to mention "that's exactly what I meant to say" or "you just said what I tried to say", am I correct?

I hope someone would answer to this question.
