Angry Noun phrases and more

I've an assignment where I have to identify the noun phrases, the post head and premodifiers in a text given to me.
I've been able to figure out what a nounphrase is, as well as postmodifiers. But head and premodifiers, what's that?

Default Re: Noun phrases and more

In a noun phrase, the head is the noun itself. However, pay attention to the fact that there could be more than one noun, where the first acts as a premodifier of the second. For example, in the sentence The green beer bottle, beer is a noun which modifies bottle. Bottle is the head of this noun phrase. Green, an adjective, is also a premodifier.
