Default Help please on use of plural?

Hi

can someone help me with an argument we're having? In the sentence below, should "home" be singular or plural? some say plural, others say as Lisa & sam are only looking at one new home each it should be singular as the houses are singular. For context, think of a situation like the show Wife swap, where 2 people go into one another's houses for a while.

Lisa and Sam are about to see the other’s first reactions as they look around their new home/s".

Thank you!

This type of usage dilemma is rather common. The best solution, IMO is to use "each" and the singular.

Lisa and Sam are about to see the other’s first reactions as they each look around their new home.
