Should the article "a" be used or not in these sentences?
I think the article is not necessary in these sentences but i want to check it out:
Person A: Her dad is a banker.
Person B: Banker? (or a banker?)
Person A: He had a car accident last week.
Person B: Poor kid! (or a poor kid?)

"A banker?" This is not an exclamation, but a question. I see no reason why the article shouldn't be included
Person A: He had a car accident last week.
Person B: Poor kid! (or a poor kid?)
This one is correct without the article, because it's an exclamatory comment
