Wink personality vs characteristic

Hi, everyone

im kind of confused about the two words.

"It's meaningless to compare your children with others', bcoz everyone has his/her own unique personality/characteristics"

may someone tell me which one is better?

Both words work nicely in that sentence. You can use either, depending on your focus.

Personality is mosty about behavioral issues, but that could also include aptitudes and attitudes.

Characteristics is a broader term, but it would include personality and behavioral traits.
