    Default Colon or Semicolon?

    Would you use a colon, or what device would you use, to join the 1st part of a sentence, beginning- Just as... to the 2nd part of the sentence, beginning- So was... Or - As (something): so does (something else) ?

    Use a comma there.

    Just as Moses led the Israelites to the Promised Land, so did Newt Gingrich bring new Republicans to Washington.
