What does "simple" mean in "simple pain relief", such as "Back pains can be relieved using simple pain relief."? Are there complicated pain reliefs?

Hmm guessing here, but I'd say that it is something that only relieves pain and does nothing to attack the cause.

Simple pain relief would probably be a method of relieving pain without the use of drugs, such as relaxation or excercise

Simple pain relief, in the US would be using a simple medicine, such as aspirin or acetaminophen, or a linament or other topical.

Complicated pain relief could refer to surgery, acupuncture, physical therapy, or even to harsher medicines.
