Here is the sentence: Everything seemed to have changed since her swim in the pool. Pls tell me the parts of speech in this sentence. I feel confused about the verbs. Also, the function of 'to' in this sentence. Thanks. Mag

your sentence is the combination of two sentences 1-everything seemed to have changed 2- she swim in the pool. so: (seemed) is the first verb.but the second part does not have verb according to the type of sentence. did you mean this ? were i to the point?

. Everything -- pronoun as subject seemed -- main verb to have changed -- perfect infinitive as complement of seemed since her swim in the pool -- prepositional phrase (with swim as noun head) as a time adverbial modifying the rest of the sentence in the pool -- prepositional phrase (with pool as noun head) as an adjective postmodifying swim. .
