is there any differences between the use of (while) and (whilst)? Is any of them used in a specific place or sentence?
Which one is more formal?
Nothing really to me- 'whilst' is less common and often used when people are trying to be formal, but 'while' is fine in formal language IMO.
I agree with Tdol. They are different versions of the same word.

"While" is acceptable in all language: formal, informal, poetic, and anything else.
