    could you please help me find the names of these tenses:

    1.would tell
    2.would be telling
    3.wold have told
    4.wold have been telling

    I have seen them referred to as:
    1. Present conditional (would tell)
    2. Present continuous conditional (would be telling)
    3. Perfect conditional (would have told)
    4. Perfect conditional - continuous form (would have been telling)
    ... but I'm not a teacher! I hope it helps anyway

    I agree with Ana, but there are not many people who recognize "conditional" as a tense. Nobody really knows what to call it, but some simple call it a construction. Disagreement about number tense goes on and on. The range of opinion goes from 2 to more than 20.

    present conditional
    present continuous/progressive conditional
    past/perfect conditional
    past/perfect continuous/progressive conditional
