| Hi Nima, Your question at first appears simple, but is not that easy to answer. I am an english native speaker and I thought a bit about howyou would get the information you require. It might be better to say: The first president of the USA was..... (whoever - I don't think it was old Abe Lincoln, but I might be wrong and I am sure someone will tell us) what number is the present incumbent, George W Bush? You would have to clarify the present incumbent as we all know his Daddy was also president Bush. Another question we might ask is Are there any more of them? Does it not amaze you that the most powerful country in the world can vote for complete idiots to be in charge of them? Only joking |

I'd ask "Where does President Bush fall in the order of presidents?" This indicates you're asking for an ordinal number in response (i.e., 44th, 26th, 33rd, ...). Regards |
