| I think in the following sentence 'SMOKE' is better than smoking. So could you please kindly explain if I could replace SMOKING in the sentence with SMOKE? If I can't could you please explain why? | Hi Jiang . In my opinion, to indicate that you won't allow people to do something, you need to use smoking. . Replacing it with smoke makes it sound like the "more usual" causative use of have (i.e. to ask someone else to do something) . |
