comprehension Dear teachers,
I have finished reading 'Button, Button' by Richard Matheson, but I am not sure if my understanding of it is correct not. Could you please kindly see if my explanation is right or not?
I think theme of the story is that people no longer value morality or conscience. Norma, the wife would rather kill a person whom she didn't know to get some money. Her husband's death had nothing to do with the box. I guess by saying "Do you really think you knew your husband?" Mr.Steward meant that the wife and the husband who was strongly againt pushing the button had different attitudes toward morality and conscience.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.
