    Default Use of FREE

    hello again,
    Could FREE be used in all these contexts:
    1. The road was FREE in the wee hours so is reached early.
    2. When i get FREE from my office i will attend the meeting.(or RELEIVE/or any other word)
    Thank you

    Default Re: Use of FREE

    Free can mean unecumbered or, alternatively, without charge.

    So the road could be free for two reasons;
    1 there was no charge (toll) to use it or

    2. there was no traffic (quiet without obstacles)

    you should add so 'the destination was' reached early

    Secondly

    Better to say "when I am free from my office "

    'When I am relieved from my/the office would be OK
