Does the word "agent" just refer to the person who works forexample in a travel agency or it can refer to the agency itself?

Default Re: meaning

Normally, it refers only to the person. But it can be used metonymically, to refer to the agency as well. For example, I'll call the agent to book the tickets doesn't necessarily mean that you'll call a specific person, but that you'll call the travel agency (and anyone can answer)
