Thumbs down It's been two weeks

Dialog:
A- I ('ve) just had a knee surgery.(We know that it still hurts)
B- Oh, I had no idea. When did you have that done?
A- It's been two weeks.
My question is:
Could A have said this?
A- It's been two weeks since I had it done.
Since the question is: When did you.....My own answer would have been:
I had it done 2 weeks ago.
Is it right? and what is the difference between these answers?

They're both OK. The first puts more emphasis on the two weeks:

'It's been two weeks since I had it done, and there's still no improvement.'

But your version is equally valid - it's just more of a simple declaration of what you had done and when.

I would say "It's been two weeks since I had it done ." or maybe it would be better " It's two weeks since I had it done it" The question can also be "How long is it since you had it done?
