Dear teachers,
I have read people writing "with Resume at bed".
Can you please tell me what does that mean?
Is there anything wrong and whether it is good writing?
Best Regards
kcg
Hello KCG, welcome to Using English!
I've never heard that phrase, and it doesn't seem to google.
Do you have any more context?
All the best,
MrP
I've heard people say they are "putting a resume to bed", meaning they have finished it, consider it complete, and are no longer going to work on it. Could this be the phrase?
MrP, i think this is a rather unusual phrase, i read it some where saying 'i am apply to this job with my resume at bed'.
jcanody, its not completed resume, i think the meaning is with my resume attached.
Could it be a high english level writing? since i haven't seen that before
Best Regards
kcg
could it be appended?
Hello KCG
1. ???I am applying for this job with my resumé at bed.
I'm still mystified; it doesn't make sense at any level of English!
Perhaps it is a typo, as Curmudgeon suggests. Or perhaps "bed" is part of e.g. a shop name.
But maybe we should wait and see if any other members have any other ideas.
All the best,
MrP
I still haven't figured out yet what "with my resume at bed" means, i thought it would be some sort of English literature usage in a letter.
But I appreciate your help. thanks
I'm sorry, KCG! I've never encountered it before; and I would be very surprised if it were a literary phrase.
Is it possible that the person who used it had misread or misheard it from somewhere else?
MrP
I have actually asked this person, she pointed out that "at bed" is something like "with my resume at back"? Although mostly the case would be "with my resume attached". I forgot to ask her how she got this phrase from, but now i couldn't as I don't see her anymore.
