    - "Can you lend me a few dollars because I forgot to bring my wallet?"
    - "_______ you pay me back tomorrow."

    a. Provided
    b. Unless

    My book gives b as the correct answer but it doesn't sound ok to me.

    I agree with you. I can't make b work out to be a meaningful sentence.

    I think it would only work out if it were:
    "Not unless you pay me back tomorrow"
