Hi folks,

When I want to know the voltage of something, can I ask:

1) How does it run(s)?

or

2) How does it work(s)?

or

3)Neither 1 nor 2?

For example, I'm in a shop and ask to seller the number 1 or 2 questions above. What would he/she understand?
I'd like he/she understands I'm wishing to know if the product is 110v or 220v, etc.

But, let's go and imagine as if I'm holding the product in my hand. Could I ask that (#1 or #2)? I'm asking about it, because - I've no sure -, but I think I heard something like that and the store seller answered the voltage...
