Hello, Could you please explain the phrase: "the delivery comes after the order" in the following text. This is a part from an interview which I have to translate into my native language. Thank you!

The French agent was talking about that the delivery comes after the order, and in his language that is "delay", not that it is late delivery. This is one example of misunderstanding because of language barriers.

there is a period of time between when the order is placed, and when the product is actually delivered and arrives at its destination.

there is a delay from the time when the order is placed and the time that the item arrives (is delivered); delivery is not instantaneous.
