    Smile adverbs

    I speak louder than my sister. Can we use "more loudly" here ? Do they have the same meaning?

    They stand closer to each other .... Is closer an adverb here? Can we say more closely instead of closer here?

    Yes and yes. This is because both words have two adverb forms: loud/loudly and close/closely.
