Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?

Yes, 'deals the cards' is used in english, as is 'holds all the aces'

His ass is three times the size! He is about the only man who, when he wears a tuxedo, still looks like an unmade bed.

Oh boy! Have I got alot to catch up on in this thread! So many questions.

Quote:
When I refer to Dick Chaney (vice-president of the USA) as the puppet master everyone knows exactly what I mean. I guess that personifies the "pulling-the-strings" metaphor.
You say puppet master around here, the response is, "You mean Master of the Puppet?" Then an enthusiastic conversation about Metallica erupts.

Quote:
You mean George W is a puppet
I thought the gripe about W was that he couldn't be controlled and thought for himself?

Quote:
Do I pick on him too much? I think not enough.

There is nothing in George W. Bush's resume, either before or after he became president, to indicate that he has the brainpower to plan a family vacation, let alone lead a country. Without a puppet master (even a malevolent model of corporate greed) my country would be leaderless.
I would think a bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and a a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School would help him out a bit when planning that trip to Magic Springs.

No it's not. I saw it and I can't believe that anyone would buy into that garbage. Unless, of course, Michael Moore is a mind reader on top of all his other 'accomplishments?'

My children could have made it up. (Yes, they are learning. Our little school has improved tremendously since I attended.) What can be done about it? That film wasn't any more reliable than anything a Republican would have thrown together about a Democrat, had they been so inclined. It's basically an opinion, which everyone has a right to.

Amen!

His ass is so big because that huge head of his is always shoved up it!

I don't want to spoil anyone's fun, but I seem to remember there was a thread here a while ago.

There's a phrase of very limited use - chiefly used of the Tory party in the UK. The high-ranking but faceless people who actually call the shots - particularly when it's time for a politician to resign - are called 'the men in grey suits' (not just any men in grey suits - the).
