Onomatopoeic words are those which seem to sound like their meaning..The most obvious example would be the cow that moos ( all over the world?!) ...So how about having a thread on it?

The noise a cat makes to get your attention...
Not to put too fine a point on it, but the squeegee wasn't named after the squeak noise it sometimes makes.....in medieval times, such a device was called a squilgee, and was made from the tale of a whale and used to scrape fish debris and residue off the decks of fishing boats.
