Query - Reader's Digest

Hi!

I am subscribing to Reader's Digest. In one of the letters from the editor to its readers, the editor wrote .....to get the book " You need pay just Rs.399/-... " Is the sentence write? Should it not be " you need to pay just Rs.399/- Will " to " come between need and pay? Kindly clarify.

"Need" can take the bare infinitive, but I think it is more common to use the "to" infinitive.

I am not clear still. Kindly clarify me further.

What I said was "need to pay" is more common than "need pay".
