Default Irregular verbs - went and been

Hi there, :D

Can you help me to understand something

- He's been to India (Is this present perfect tense or past participle?)

- He went to India (Is this simple past tense?)

Thank you.

The first is the present perfect. It uses has + past participle (been).
The second is the simple past.
