Red face Have a blast this weekend

Dear All,

A teacher sent an email to her students regarding their home assignment with the ending of the message saying:

"Have a blast this weekend, take it easy"

May I know what it means?

Thanks / ju

It means "have a lot of fun and relax (don't work hard). Unless she was being ironic, it is a strange note to accompany a homework assignment.
