Dear Mike,

Thank you very much for your explanation. Now I see your point.
However, do native speakers use sentences like 'Lighting a cigar the car drove off the road' ? I think this sentence isn't correct because there is no logical subject for 'Lighting a cigar'. Is that right?

Dear curmudgeon,

Thank you very much for your reply. Does it mean:
She is giving evidence to the beauty and integrity, which inspires new generations? If it is does 'giving evidence' means 'describes'?

looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.

Jiang

No, I think it means that she, by her presence, which displays beauty and integrity is an inspiration for others.

Oh,
It occurred to me that if a sentence has 'dangling participle' that means it is incorrect. Is that right?

You would be surprised by the sentences of native speakers. You are absolutely correct about the logic.

Did you mean 'The fact that she appears in certain places itself is beauty and integrity, which inspired others'. Is that right?

Dear Mike,

I guess a sentence with dangling participle is a sentence that has no logic subject therefore doesn't agree with the real subject of a sentence. This type of sentence is used by native speakers but considered incorrect by my grammar teachers.

No, she is beautiful and has integrity, these attributes inspire others. They see these things and are inspired. She is a role model for others
