Default How to improve one's writing?

Whenever I ask teachers/classmates for some ways to improve my writing, they simply tell me to read books and revise when I write.

I've been reading a lot lately and I have been editing all of my essays. However, my writing does not seem to improve at all. I get the usual marks. 6.5/10, 7/10, 7.5/10, etc etc etc.

I don't know maybe I am being naive and impatient, but I am going to be in university next year and I need to learn how to write, quickly. I don't know maybe English is something that I can never fully understand.

Anyway... I was just wondering.
What are the components of good writing?

It is really frustrating.

Also how can I write more clearly?

This particular post was excellent. A few corrections:

I get the usual marks: 6.5/10, 7/10, 7.5/10, etc.

I don't know, maybe I am being naive and impatient. However, I am going to be in university next year, and I need to learn how to write -- quickly.

I don't know, maybe English is something that I can never fully understand.

Sometimes it's the little things that make the difference. You write very clearly. Try to punctuate your work a bit more. If you are getting better than 50% all the time then that is good. Remember that everything is subjective and don't be put off by other people telling you you are wrong. There is, after all ,no 'right'. You are doing OK, don't worry
