Red face all-out,could,personologh theory,over the edges,mounting

1) We have reached a stage where the dire things that threaten us are so
great that even the result of an all-out nuclear was pale into
insignificance as unimportant compared to what's going to happen.
  • Could you correct this sentence for me?
  • What does it mean of all-out?
2) A : May I borrow your reference book?
B : Yes, you may. You could get some new idea from it for your project.
  • I want to make it in a polite way, should I use "could" here?
  • Could you correct the sentences for me?
3) Everything about her spoke of power-brute force.
  • What does it mean?
  • Is it a proper English?
4) He thinks you have gone over the edges with this personology theory.
  • What does it mean of personology theory & over the edges?
  • Is it a proper English?
5) mounting pressure / concern / debt / evidence
  • For mounting here : does it imply the amount/grading has been going up instead of only being large ?
  • Shall I add "s" for concern, debt and evidence?
Thank

Default Re: all-out,could,personologh theory,over the edges,mounting

We have reached a stage where the dire things that threaten us are so
great that even the result of an all-out nuclear war pales into
insignificance as unimportant compared to what's going to happen.
  • Could you correct this sentence for me?
  • What does it mean of all-out? > universal
2) A : May I borrow your reference book?
B : Yes, you may. You could get some new ideas from it for your project.
  • I want to make it in a polite way, should I use "could" here? yes
  • Could you correct the sentences for me?
3) Everything about her spoke of power-brute force.
  • What does it mean? It implies that she is physically very powerful.
  • Is it a proper English? yes
4) He thinks you have gone over the edge with this personology theory.
  • What does it mean of personology theory & over the edges? Over the edge > gone beyond sensible limits. Personology Theory >
It is a system of face reading that purports to show a correlation between a person's physical appearance and their behaviour, personality and character. generally regarded as pseudo-science

Is it a proper English? yes

5) mounting pressure / concern / debt / evidence
  • For mounting here : does it imply the amount/grading has been going up instead of only being large ? It implies that there is a steady increase in the pressure....
  • Shall I add "s" for concern, debt and evidence? No
