While 'please read' sounds more natural, I would say that 'please have read' or 'please have chapter 2 read' are not ungrammatical.

Phrase it "Please have Chapter 2 read by..." and it sounds fine.

Interesting. How would you parse it, Tdol? As an ellipsis:

1. Have (it) read by Monday.

Or as a perfect imperative:

2. Have-read this by Monday.

Imagine a weary teacher whose class often fail to complete their work:
Please have read it by Monday. (perfect imperative to try to get the little blighters to bother- emphasis on completion)

But why not present tense?

Please read it by Monday.

Simpler and it says the same thing.
