What are the best strategies for increasing student's motivation?
I am in the process of applying to teach English in Japan. I have little experience of teaching English but they ask you to imagine you are teaching 40 difficult students and talk about how you would motivate them. The age group I am applying to teach are aged 6-12 years. Are there any particularly good strategies of teaching or ideas anyone can suggest?

You might be able to get some good advice from www.gaijinpot.com, which has forums where there are many ESL teachers in Japan, some of whom might work in the school you're applying to and may be able to give you the kind of information they're looking for one your application.
