    Unhappy for now; by now

I admit that Internet shopping has its drawbacks. For now, many companies only ship to U.S. addresses.

Could we use “by now” instead of “for now”? If not, why?
Is the phrase “for now” spoken English? Cause I can’t find it in the dictionaries.

    Thanks a lot.

"By now," means, "Before the present time."
"For now," means, "At the present time and in the near future but not permanently"

I would not use "by now" in your sentence. Your sentence is describing a current state.
