Hi gemma
Present simple tense has four main uses:
1/ It's used for fact
eg. The sun rises in the east. [It's the fact that the sun rises in the east.]
2/ It's used for habit.
eg. I always gets up at 7 o'clock. [It's my habit to get up at at 7.00.]
3/ It's used for something that 's true for a long time.
eg. I live in Cambodia. [I've lived in Cambodia since I was born and it's a relly long time.
4/ It's used for expressing future activity, esp in timetable.
eg. The train leaves at 9.00. [It's not 9 o'clock right now.]
