Red face well-round job,out of place,take up a notch,nothing to throw a fit over

1) The cast did a well-round job, no one was out of place.
2) She has really taking it up a notch over the last years in the advertising
deparment.
3) The technology of this movie is nothing to throw a fit over.


What do the above sentences mean?

1 Sounds a bit strange to be- well-rounded would be better for me, meaning that the cast were well-chosen and filled all the roles convincingly.
2 If you take something up a notch, you move it to a higher level or standard
3 The technology is not that exciting
